Spokane River Description
The Spokane River in Washington is an urban fishery. It is not blessed with great numbers of fish but there are certain time windows when fishing improves and there are opportunities at good native rainbows with a few browns and cutthroat mixed in. It is a large river with dangerous float sections so make sure you understand the floats before you put in. My report will only consider the flowing sections from Riverside State Park upstream to the Idaho State line.
Techniques & Tips

Nymphing stoneflies and caddis, swinging a caddis soft hackle in the afternoon Occasional streamer fishing, but dead drifting big nymphs will probably work best.

7-Day Forecast

Once we get thru this cold snap the spokane can fish pretty well in the winter. Not a numbers game, but some nice fish can be found primarily on streamers and nymphs.
